I cried while listening to this talk by Elder Oaks during Conference! I listened to it again today and it got me riled up again. The talk talks about abortion, child abuse, divorce. It always gets me when children are victimized and are in horrible circumstances because of the adult figures in their lives. This is one of my favorite quotes from the entire talk though:
"We need politicians, policy makers, and officials to increase their attention to what is best for children in contrast to the selfish interests of voters and vocal advocates of adult interests." Elder Oaks Oct 2012.
That says it more plainly than ever to me how evil and sinful abortion is.
It makes me grateful to be able to provide protection to a little spirit from Heavenly Father and teach her the right things. We are truly blessed to have eternal perspective because of the gospel.
