Talk about a busy summer full of fun!

That is why, I am sad to say, I have not blogged for a while...

Not really, I wouldn't trade it for the world! We had a great time with family. I'll just do a quick update and review of all the places we've been and things we've done.  Hopefully I'll get the pictures up here too.

First, For the 22-24th of July we were in Bear Lake at a reunion with my mom's family.  It was wonderful! I seriously love that area of Utah.  BOATING was so fun!  The water is so clear and felt amazing! We had planned to take Avery on the boat (we had before) but my mom ended up watching her for us and so I could try wakeboarding again.  I got up again, but I am not too good.  Everyone got a turn and Sarah and Katie got up! Sarah rode for a while, and Katie just got up and fell, but it was a great experience for them :) We're trying to convince my dad he should get a boat.  hahaha! That will NEVER happen.

Just a few days later, we went to Sun Valley! Megan, Adam, Jake and I and Avery stopped at City of Rocks on our way up!  It was so great! Really unusual landscape and we went on a great hike there.  We had quite the adventure getting there, driving on dirt road for 35 miles in the most desolate place I have ever been.  I was eating chips like crazy bc I was so nervous that we would break down and never see the family again. It was crazy! Sun Valley was great though! Seriously the best place in the world.  We did the classic SV things such as going out to eat, golf for Jake, swimming, walking around SV, going to the candy store and hiking.  We've found a great little trail around that is beautiful.  We've hiked it for the past two years and it's perfect.  Avery loves going on hikes and being outside so it was great to go with her and Megan and my parents.   A highlight would be the annual cherry-pit spitting contest.  Megan spit the farthest of all the family and so knowing the competitive nature of the Child family, someone looked up the world record for the longest cherry-pit spit. A tape measure was brought from one of the cars and Megs pit was only about 8 ft from the world record! haha! Everyone was in a frenzy, chanting Megans name and urging her to try it again.  Eventually we just ran out of cherries but it was hilarious!

From Sun Valley, we drove straight to Island Park, ID to spend some time with Jake's family at their family cabin.  It was filled with motorcycle rides, lazy days reading books, Yellowstone (we went swimming at the Firehole, which was awesome!! There is this place in the river you can jump into the rapids and float down stream.  I was scared, but I did it and it was so fun! Go there if you have a chance!) and the Playmill, where a few of our friends were in teh play Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, which is one of my all time favorite musicals.  "Bless her beautiful hide!" "Goin' Courtin'!" "Sobbin' Women" so many fun songs from that one! And they all get stuck in your head!

Avery is doing well, she is a charmer and so stinkin' cute! I love her so much! She has such a sweet personality.  She is now almost 8 months! CRAZY! Where did the time go? More later, just had to get this down here.  :)
