I have been meaning to write a post for a while about Avery's development, but I don't have much time now. I decided I'd better just get it down before I forget.
She loves loves loves:
- Her daddy! She grins really big when she sees him.
- BATH TIME She splashes like crazy! She splashes so hard that water gets in her face and the first time she did it, I was way scared for her, and sat her up and patted her back. But now after she looks way startled bc of the water in her eyes/face, I just tell her she's ok and she gets back to spalshing like crazy! haha.
-She loves her little doggy! (stuffed dog, no you didn't miss us getting a pet. that will never happen).
-Looking at herself in the mirror. I call her reflection, "your little friend"
-Going to go check the mail
-Outside
-Her butterfly toy. Best thing ever! She plays with it for like 10 minutes non-stop. haha.
-Wiggle time of course.
-Going on walks with Mommy! She loves looking around and then she'll fall asleep in her little carseat/stroller thing. She's a doll.
-I recently tried her out on rice cereal and she likes it. She proceeds to get herself completely messy and wet so I have given her a bath after every time she's eaten rice cereal. haha. (that could be because I don't know how to feed her without it getting all over her as well :) ).
-Being held facing out (especially if it's not me or Jake). She likes to look at everything.
-Being almost thrown up in the air...we don't let go quite yet, but she likes it a lot.
Funny things she's doing:
-Drooling a ton
-Her left foot "thumps" the ground repeatedly. I call her Little Thumper when she does it.
-Grabbing her feet (especially during a diaper change)
-Pulling hair
-Drooling...oh, i already mentioned that? ;)
-Holding her breath and then while she keeps her lips closed, she'll blow bubbles
-Touching faces. pretty gently actually (adorable)
-Did I mention drooling?!
-Cuddling with Mommy!
She is a little small for her age, so I've been worried about her. However, the doctor is not worried bc she's growing. But that is why I started her on rice cereal (she's about 5 months) so a little earlier than I was planning on but I think it is already helping her to beef up a bit. haha.
Basically same old, same old. I'm loving being a mommy and Jake is doing a great job with all that he has on his plate: school, internship, club, work and calling...oh and husband and father! He is so supportive of me and what I am doing with Avery Mae! He is wonderful and I am so blessed to have such an amazing husband. He loves Avery so much and it is so sweet to see them play together.
We are really trying to be better at doing scripture study together and having family goals. I can really tell a difference. It's awesome!
oh p.s. I had a wonderful Birthday! The big 2.6. It's pretty crazy actually because now I am closer to 30 than I am to 20. Freak. Where did the time go?! My parents gave me a sewing machine and now my mind is exploding with ideas of things I want to try and sew for Avery. I'm way excited. I also got a new phone from Jake and his parents and I love it. That was so needed. My old phone was so. gross. (I sat trying to think of an adequate adjective for my old phone and nothing was coming...gross is what came out). Because of the new phone, I am now also on Instagram...bectaylor17 follow me there if you'd like!
