Conference, Haircuts, Fruit

This post is overdue. I've been thinking about it for a while, but finally I have some time to sit down and update. WARNING: It's very random.

First and foremost, GENERAL CONFERENCE! Wasn't it great!??! I loved it and I learned so many great things that I want to start doing. We were encouraged to bring questions to General Conference and so for FHE a few weeks ago, Jake and I thought of questions that we wanted to have answered. It seemed that everything that I wrote down or was thinking about recently was mentioned. It started out with Sister Allred during the RS broadcast. I have been wanting to learn the doctrines of charity and learn how to develop this Christlike attribute more and WaLa...Sister Allred speaks on it so beautifully! I can't wait to really be able to study it more!

One of my favorite things ever was that there will be a new PROVO temple! How exciting is that? I can't believe it (actually I can, the Provo temple is constantly busy), but it was definitely unexpected. I was luckily enough to be one of the 21,000 people who gasped when President Monson announced it.

Other favorites from Conference: Elder Callister (if you served your mission in the South, you loved it) and Elder Scott. Of course Elder Uchtdorf as well in the RS meeting! Love them. Read them or watch them on the www.lds.org website.

Don't you just love these three? I do!
Another highlight of the weekend, was spending time with family and friends. We are so blessed to be surrounded by such great people!

In other news, Megan gets to go to the temple tomorrow! I am so excited that I get to be there. She got her mission call, for all those that didn't know....BERLIN GERMANY! Leaving December 7th. Crazy huh? haha. We all freaked when she opened it. It was actually pretty hilarious all the screaming.

Beautiful!

Germany Anyone?

So I just don't know what to do about my hair right now. It's at an annoying length...I am in-between the "trying to grow it out, i like it" (?idk) and then the "CHOP IT OFF NOW JAKE, JUST DO IT" stage. Danielle (Jake's sister) does hair but every time she's down we are just so busy it just doesn't happen. I finally caved and am getting a haircut Friday. I think just a trim though and maybe some shorter bangs. Any suggestions?

While we're on the subject of haircuts, last night I attempted to cut Jake's hair. It was getting out of hand, and like I mentioned before, we haven't had time for Danielle to do it. Actually I buzzed it. He hasn't had a buzz for like 5 years. haha. It looks fine, but he was worried about the MTC...he thought it would be too short. I'm sure it will be just fine. :)

I wish I only had 3 options!

So I love living in Orem for a couple of reasons, but one of the primary reasons is...FRESH FRUIT stands are everywhere! I love it. I've bought a ton of peaches at this one I pass on the way to work. I see it in the morning, and think about it all day. I LOVE PEACHES.

Aren't they delicious looking! Ah!
Well, the other day, we were passing a stand I had not been too and so we stopped at it and there were a ton of fresh peppers and corn which we proceeded to purchase. The man told us the peppers we bought were the stuffing kind. I automatically thought of this delish recipe my friend had made me once and so I made it tonight for dinner. Apparently these peppers were not the kind of peppers my friend used. These peppers are used by real mexican people. Meaning they were super hot. Of course, anyone who knows Jake knows he was just fine and loved them. I, on the other hand, had my eyes, face (I think I touched my face with my hands after cutting the peppers?) and hands burning so much I couldn't even stand to eat one. Next time.
