She made it to our family! YAY!
Her birth was crazy!? Long story short, it was an unplanned natural birth. I got to the hospital and I was a 10. No time for an epidural or anything and she was born 1.5 hours after I got to the hospital and 4 hours after my contractions started.
it was the best feeling of my life to have her placed on my chest when she finally came out!
She was 8.10 lbs and 21.5 inches long born at 6:37 am October 10, 2014.
She is a miracle child....started sleeping through the night at no joke 6 weeks. She eats like a champ and we didn't have any of the previous breastfeeding drama that we had with Avery. Avery does extremely well (even at the very beginning) while I am feeding Lyla, which is what I was nervous about.
Overall, this transition to two children is not half as bad as i was fearing! I know its because I'm getting sleep and Lyla is such a good baby. It is actually wonderful and I just cherish them both everyday!
Lyla is now officially 3 months old! I don't know where the time has gone. Actually, here's where:
October 10-18 mom here helping.
October 16-18 Dad comes to meet Lyla!
October 22-November 1 Mary comes to help
November 20-24 Megan came to visit
November 25-29 DC temple trip with Andrea Murray/Thanksgiving at Aunt Mary's
December 15-January 8 Trip home to Utah and Idaho
Needless to say we have been busy and have been so blessed to have had so many visitors and been able to go visit family. I will do a more detailed post about these adventures soon with more pictures.
At her last doctors visit Lyla was:
96% head
60% weight
85% height
She is outgrowing her 3-6 month clothes so right now, I have heaping piles of clean 6 month clothes i just got out of storage and need to fold/put away.
Lyla is such a cheerful, content and peaceful soul. She is wonderful and loves to be swaddled, THE BUM PAT works wonders with her, and white noise is really important. She smiles wide and big, has the best chunky cheeks I've ever kissed, fuzzy duck hair that sticks straight up in the back (its calming a bit as she gets older), chunky legs and will even laugh!! She likes peekaboo and wiggle time; she's figured out her hands and has started sucking on them; she has beautiful dark blue/almost royal blue eyes that I hope don't change and she is just so wonderful!
I love seeing the interaction between Avery and Lyla! Avery is sooo sweet to her; wants to give her hugs, lay by her to change her diaper, plays peekaboo with her and she even had Lyla lay down in the crib while she bounced in it. haha! They will be great little friends!!
Avery does have her moments where she wants mom, and wants me to put Lyla down, "Lyla swing?" but overall the transition has been pretty seamless so far!
I will post on little Avery (and Jake and I' doings soon). She is so grown-up and talks sooo much!
Both my girls are so great and I love being a mom!
