First of all, Avery Mae was blessed on March 3rd, 2013. She was just over 2 months old. Mary and Dave, Danielle, JK and the kids, and Chels and Kory were all able to come down for it as well as Grandpa Don! Of course my fame was there so it was so special to have both sides of the family there! Jake did a great job and afterwards we had about 50+ people in our little house for dessert, fruit and veggies. It was great to feel so loved and supported.
Avery had her 2 month doctors appointment on March 5th. She got most of her immunizations and I just cried during it. Our doctor is great and very understanding. Thank goodness Jacob could make it to the appointment! I was just so sad to see her hurt. I held her most the day and she was super sleepy for a few days, but all is well now. I was not excepting to be so emotional about that. weird. Here are her stats:
Weight: 10.34 lbs. which is the 21.12 %tile
Length: 23 inches which is the 68.05%tile
Head: 14.5 inches which is the 10th %tile. haha! Our little miss has one small head. 9 out of 100 babies her age have a smaller head than her. I actually put a sun hat we have on her the other day, and it completely drowned her. haha. We'll have to think of something else to block the sun.
Fun things Avery Mae is now doing at 2.5 months:
- SMILING! She is such a smiley girl. It is so fun!
-Laughing or rather, gasping. haha. When she gets excited, she'll just tighten her whole body and gasp up at us!
-She now follows us with her eyes around the room, and can interact more with us, which is so fun!
-She has found her fists, and loves to chew on them. It's so cute!
- She is drooling at TON right now (part of me is wondering about teething?!)
-She loves to go on walks with Mom! The weather has been so nice lately, that I'll just put her in the stroller (LOVE IT btw) and she loves being outside. She falls asleep in the stroller.
-She's talking a lot too! I wish I could know what she's saying!
-She got a swing from a baby shower and she LOVES IT! I love it too! She loves to hear the music and it just soothes her right to sleep.
-I can't believe I got down this far in the list without telling about WIGGLE TIME! haha. After she eats we'll just set her on the floor and she goes crazy wiggling. haha. She kicks her legs, breaths hard and has her little fists going. It really is hilarious. If you pick her up too soon and she still wants to wiggle, she'll let you know :)
-I'll read to her while she's on the blanket wiggling and she'll follow the pages and pictures with her eyes. Love that!
-She can almost hold on to her rattle. She likes her colorful black and white zebra toy.
- She usually sleeps from 10-3, then to 7:30. After the 7:30 time, she has a hard time going back to sleep so sometimes, I'll bring her in bed with me and get another couple hours of sleep cuddling the babe. I love it and I think Avery loves it too, otherwise she'd just sleep in her crib right?
-Toot parties are less effective but still necessary to help with gas.
Basically, i love being a mother and i really am enjoying every minute i get to spend with this beautiful baby. Jake wishes he could spend more time with us, but he loves the time he does get to be with us! Life is awesome!
